We have a fantastic opportunity for a Chemical Operative to join this multinational Chemical Manufacturing business that provides their customers with a world-class service and advice on creating products is looking for a Chemical Operative to join their Operations Team at their Chemical Manufacturing Plant in Leicester.
As a Chemical Operative your role will be to provide effective support to the team leaders and managers in achieving all operational measures and targets, ensuring compliance to the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across the site manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Deliver finished goods from the production line to the warehouse efficiently as per the site production schedules.
  • Use process knowledge and competence to ensure production and quality are delivered effectively.
  • Assist in the manufacture, packing, labelling and despatch of products and blends.
  • Assist in ensuring that the production plan is on track, tackling issues as they arise.
  • Reporting and managing any non-conformance and the reasons why in a timely fashion.
  • Handling of incoming bulk road tankers, packed goods, empty packaging and raw materials.
  • Blending of bulk liquid from powdered raw material using on site mixing vessel.
  • Dilution of inorganic liquid.
  • Filling drums, polys and IBC containers.
  • Preparation of drivers load and loading of own fleet and 3rd party haulage vehicles.
Experience, skills and knowledge required:
  • Previous experience of handling chemicals would be an advantage.
  • A forklift truck licence is essential (Counterbalance and reach truck)
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • NVQ 2 or above in chemical operations would be desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines.
  • Problem solver and motivator.
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm with a “can-do” attitude
  • Professional, efficient, flexible, patient, punctual and pro-active
  • Leads by example in setting a safe culture in the workplace and maintaining high standards.
  • Takes ownership of actions and responsibilities.
Employment Details:
  • Location: Leicester.
  • Full-time / Permanent / Monday to Friday.
  • 40 hours / Between 6am-3pm with 1 hour of breaks.
  • Additional hours may be required as per the needs of the business.
