MET Technician / Vehicle Repair Mechanic | Beeston, Leeds
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
 
We are recruiting on behalf of Armstrong & Burns Ltd, a well-established, independent and manufacturer-approved Accident Repair Centre based in Beeston, Leeds.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MET Technician, Vehicle Repair Technician or qualified Mechanic to join a modern, well-equipped bodyshop.
 
You will work alongside an experienced team committed to completing high-quality vehicle repairs to manufacturer and industry standards.
 
 
What You Can Expect

  • Good salary dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Holidays: 20 days + 8 statutory + Christmas to New Year closure
  • Healthcare cash plan after probation period
  • Regular manufacturing based training
  • Flexible start / finish between (7am-8.30am / 3.30pm-5pm) - 4pm finish Friday
 
The Role
 
As an MET Technician, you will complete the mechanical, electrical and trim work required throughout the vehicle repair process.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Identifying additional vehicle repair requirements
  • Completing four-wheel alignment and ADAS calibration work
  • Working safely on hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Ensuring all vehicle repairs meet manufacturer and industry standards
  • Completing work efficiently and accurately within agreed deadlines
  • Working closely with other technicians and mechanics to achieve team and bodyshop targets
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
 
About You
 
To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A minimum Level 3 NVQ qualification in MET
  • Previous experience within a busy Accident Repair Centre
  • Current ADAS certification
  • Four-wheel alignment certification
  • Hybrid and electric vehicle certification
  • The ability to complete vehicle repair work competently and efficiently to strict deadlines
  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • ATA accreditation would be a strong advantage but is not essential.
The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and proactive, with a willingness to share ideas that could improve vehicle repair processes and increase efficiency.
